One fan a day
One number about the chart behind the wordmark
The fan behind the Always Risk On wordmark is a Monte Carlo fan of 180 price paths, and its seed is the date in London. Everyone who opens the home page on the same London day sees the same 180 paths, whatever their own time zone.
Paths180
The observation
The fan behind the wordmark on the home page is drawn by the Monte Carlo method, 180 price paths from a seeded random walk, and the seed is the date in London. So everyone who opens the page on the same London day sees the same 180 paths, whatever their own time zone, and at midnight in London everyone gets a new set.
The number
180 paths, and each one is a walk of 120 steps. That sounds like a lot of lines for a background, and it is. It comes to 21,600 line segments drawn on a canvas, which is why the fan is a canvas and not 180 SVG paths the browser would have to lay out again on every frame.
The chart shows where the paths drawn for 30 September 2026 end, before the fan is fitted to the screen. More of them end above the start than below it, because the walk has a small upward drift built in, and the spread runs out on both sides of it. That spread is what makes it read as a fan and not as a line.
Why it matters
The draft seeded the fan from the visitor’s own clock. Readers either side of midnight in different time zones got different fans, and nobody could say what the fan on the home page was on a given day.
If you seed anything shared from a date, pick one time zone and say which. A fan that is the same for everyone is something a reader can check, and a fan that depends on their clock is a screenshot nobody else can reproduce.
These are generator outputs and not prices. The chart is marked illustrative, and the fan predicts nothing.
How to check it
The footer of every page prints the number of paths and the day’s seed, which is the London date written as one number. On 30 September 2026 the seed was 20260930. Open the home page on two machines on the same London day, one of them set to another time zone, and the fans match.
